Before you pay: Vila Galé's current pages show slightly different starting hours while agreeing on an 18:00 finish, so confirm the exact arrival time when reserving. The package has no day room. Book at least two days ahead and ask about private events around the pool.

It is two blocks from Copacabana beach and can work nicely between checkout and a night flight when Hilton's rate is too high.
Before you pay: Day use is not listed for Friday or Saturday and is always subject to availability. The pool is modest rather than resort-sized, food service ends early, and the hotel asks guests to enquire for the price. Call or use the reservations contact on the official page before travelling there.

Our honest verdict: Don Pascual is the outlier and that is its strength. It is surrounded by Mata Atlântica (Atlantic Forest) rather than towers, the food credit makes the headline price easier to justify, and it suits couples or locals planning a slow day. It is not a sensible detour from Copacabana for only two or three hours.
Before you pay: The published policy requires full payment to confirm and becomes restrictive close to arrival: late cancellations may not be refundable or movable. Vargem Grande is far west of the main visitor neighbourhoods, so calculate app-car time and cost before booking.

We did not find a current public pool-pass product on their official booking pages during this update. The rule we use
A restaurant reservation is not pool access. A spa treatment is not pool access. A hotel search result is not pool access. Unless your written confirmation names the piscina (pool) and the date, assume the pool remains for registered guests.
We have also removed the old Sofitel Ipanema recommendation. The historic property has not been a dependable, bookable day-pass option, so presenting it alongside operating packages would mislead readers.
