If money is no object and you want the one address everyone recognises, book the Copacabana Palace — it earns the premium for a milestone trip. If you want romance over grandeur, we'd choose a Santa Teresa boutique every time. For a beach honeymoon, Búzios beats staying in the city. And for excellent luxury at a saner price, Leblon quietly outperforms the famous names. The one thing we wouldn't do is pay five-star money for a sea-view room you'll spend twelve hours a day away from — spend it on the hotel you'll actually enjoy.
